A largely older crowd in. Not too busy.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Elgood's - Young Henrys Newtowner3.50GoodDownable pale brown bitter. Hint of citrus, quite mild really
Evan Evans - Storm Runner4.40AcceptableCreamy light brown. Low hopping but odd. It had 4 different hops (progress, northdown, perle, preminant). Maybe one too many?
Moorhouse's - Quintessent4.80AcceptablePale gold. Odd flavours

I saw they had on the Alesmith beer that Ian had been telling me about, so I came for a half.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Oakham - AleSmith IPA6.00GoodWow. Well it hides its 6% brilliantly. Has a wheat-beer like body with a mottled DIPA alpha acid hit. It's fruity - like the fruit salad chews from the 80's. The finish is odd. It's very base-boil bitter but not as intense as the high alpha acid count would make you expect. I wouldn't want more than a half, but then it's not really my style of beer.

Fancied a pint and saw on the app jaipur was on...and only £1.79 with a voucher. Bargain. Only 2 guests on.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur5.90GoodUsual jaipur flavours but not as good as the offering at the RVP.

BeerABVScoreNotes
Inveralmond - Ossian4.10AcceptableStruggled to find much flavour or body although there was a dry bitter aftertaste.

Great beer range, and the lady serving was friendly and offered us tasters without us asking

Late morning swift one after an hour’s cycle. Sat and read an article about the Blackcountry Ale Tairsters (BATS) who have now chalked up 24,000 different pubs in Britain since 1984. I’ve seen their “calling card” beer mat in a few pubs. Just listed the guests on - all ales here at £1.99 a pint.

Oakham - JHB3.80ExcellentAh- an old favourite that I haven’t seen for a while. This was in perfect condition and hardly touched sides on its way down.

Swift late morning pint. Actually had a reasonable chat with a ‘spoons bartender - she was from Nottingham and recommended the Dragonfly. Just noted the 3 “guest” ales.

The pub is found in Herne Bay, Kent, CT6 5JQ.

By Wetherspoon standards this is quite a small pub with a meandering layout. Situated on the sea front in Central Parade so it has good views out to sea. The southeast coastline of England was once known as the Saxon Shore, from the military forts built along it during the late Roman occupation. Today, the Saxon Shore footpath passes along Central Parade and has given its name to this Wetherspoon pub.

We have visited this pub 37 times, seen 90 different beers and tried 38 of them.
