This pub was just outside the castle. The castle was good if a little battered. The pub in contrast was very well turned out, friendly and the food was good.

160 year old building with new tenants from December 2013. Recently sympathetically redecorated and refurbished with sofas and armchairs in the main single bar area. To the side, tables are set for eating.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 3 different beers and tried 2 of them.
