22 Feb 2025 (Hogan Sampling)
A backstreet locals' pub it was described as and dating from 1836. Not sure exactly why it was listed as a heritage pub apart from being its sheer age of course. It was packed on the inside for my early evening visit and almost just the size of a micro-pub. I was willing to try a half after some distance now walked from The Blue Stoops. But the one of the two casks on when I asked for it, and the local pale ale, was then not on and which was a Portobello, just north-west of Notting Hill, and named Westway after the local stretch of the A40. Decided to therefore hold tight for the last heritage pub in the area and of the day and at Ladbroke Grove. I hasten to add that I missed two out on the CAMRA London Pubs Group's listing of eight for that day but could perhaps manage the two missed out and The Blue Stoops' "round two" on another visit.

Mid-evening, friendly and relaxed. A very nice little pub. Expensive though, and short measure.

The pub is found in Notting Hill, Central London, W8 7TQ.

A cosy little pub set just yards from Notting Hill Gate in Uxbridge Street, but largely un-noticed by the hordes of tourists that pass this way. Partitions have been removed, but it still has the feel of a multi-roomed pub. There is also a small pavement drinking area at the front.

We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 5 different beers and tried 2 of them.
