12:45 Two in the tiny snug, a group in the front room and four of us in the rear room. My first visit since completing the CAMRA GBG 25th anniversary passport fifteen years ago. At the time I was surprised that it had managed an unbroken 25 year record. Based on today's beer choice I continue to be surprised.

Evening. Immediately chatty - not been here since 1998 when it had been in the first 25 GBGs - now in all of the first 40. Justifiably full stop.

14:00 visit. Cracking old fashioned type. Four-roomer and very cosy. 2012 local CAMRA pub of the year and one of the so called Magnificent Seven pubs that have been in all forty editions of the gbg? An impressive record and all round nice pub. Quiet at this time but some nice ales on.
BeerABVScoreNotes

We broke our Liverpool pub-crawl to watch some football and by the time we reassemble here there is an element of grumpiness, bordering on anger – the football did not go well for our club. This pub is very busy and we are reduced to standing in the gutter outside.
BeerABVScoreNotes

The pub is found in Liverpool, Merseyside, L1 2SX.

The pub has appeared in every CAMRA Good Beer Guide (since the first in 1974). It's a small pub on a side street off Hardman Street. As you go through the door, the small bar is to your left with 3 other small drinking rooms running off it. Cosy and well worth seeking out. 3 handpumps on main bar and 3 more on the bar of the front snug. In 2015 sold by Punch Taverns to NewRiver Retail which had lead to worries about its future and an active Save The Roscoe Head campaign started. Sold to the sitting tenant in November 2020.

We have visited this pub 15 times, seen 51 different beers and tried 23 of them.
