Full range of Robinsons beers, all in tip top condition as always. From Old Tom at 8.5% down, including a very nice seasonal traditional bitter. What's not to like! AND they even had one of the legendary pork pies from the local butcher, just up the hill And it is fantastic to see that the local CAMRA group have considered their selections and restored this gem of a pub to the GBG 2020 - well done, my job is done!

So, I'm back again and this pub, in my humble opinion, is still the best pub/bar in the town by a mile. Friendly, welcoming pub, used by locals, students and visitors alike. Full range of Robinsons ales and a draught cider. Beer always well kept.

Excellent pub , busy with regulars and visitors. Dogs welcome. Many areas in which to enjoy your beer, which will ALWAYS be excellent. Local pork pies and scotch eggs available, but these sell out too quickly so grab one when you can.

Quiet Sunday night but a good selection of customers and a buzz of intelligent conversation. Fire on although it is such a mild night, we might not need it.

The pub is found in Ambleside, Cumbria, LA22 9AS.

Cracking local in Smith Brow, warm welcome, warm fire and superbly kept beers, the full brewery range. The finest pub in the area without a shadow of a doubt. What a shame that some local CAMRA types won't recognise it. Should have been a GBG regular for many years.

We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 11 different beers and tried 8 of them.
