Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | | The first day of opening for some time so a good time to get beer from a fresh cask. |

18 Feb 2011 (Magnus Greel)
Pub refurbished since last visit and layout altered similar to when it was The Smith's Arms, but looks more like an IKEA showroom than a pub. My previous visit around 5 years ago produced a pint of vinegar, and they didn't disappoint this time! Used to be a cracking back street pub with spot on beers when run by owners who cared..
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | | Barmaid offered this as a consolation pint, and charged us the difference from the Rocking Rudolph for the privelige. Drinkable, just, but I won't be rushing back for another. |
Greene King - Hardys & Hansons Rocking Rudolph (now use 4.2% entry) | 5.00 | | Xmas ale leftover at £2 a pint! Didn't need to taste it to know it was off, replacement offered but no better. |

I bumped into Martin at Ashford railway station on the way home and he had no idea that this pub now does Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter as a regular. We went down there and had 2 pints in the garden.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | I really must ask them to take the sparkler off. Bit too creamy and lacks the intensity and bite of some of the better pints of this beer, but I would still happily sit there all evening drinking it. |

Thursday early evening. Bustling locals in bar area, no one in eating room except me. Cheap rolls on offer. It's a nice building, was better under candle light. However, it did have Harvey's on, which I haven't seen in Ashford for.......
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Good Harvey's yeast aroma. some hop. If I'm being really picky, it could be firmer in the mouth, sparkler may be a bit too tight. Finish though is superb, yeasty character and a beautiful hop bite. |
Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Wells Bombardier (now superseded by 4.1% version) | 4.30 | Not Tried | |
