Lunchtime and fairly quiet, the barman apologised for stoking the fire up a bit too much as the weather was a bit warmer than it had been earlier in the week. Just one other group of customers who appeared to be on their way to or from a wedding.

The pub is found in Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TX.

A sister pub to the Stag in Maidstone, this is a fine Georgian building that has been tastefully refurbished, there are good views across the river and an outdoor drinking area. There is a real coal fire in the colder months.

We have visited this pub once, seen 1 beer and tried it.
