Unexpectedly busy in here for a Sunday afternoon in a pub serving no food. It’s a while since I have asked a barmaid if there is a table free in the back room and then walked around the outside of the building to access the bar in question.

The pub is found in Fitzrovia, Central London, W1T 2LY.

A pub that is famous enough to have lent its name to the surrounding district. Synonymous with the word ‘Bohemian’ for 150 years until the 1960s, it latterly became rather more ordinary. The pub boasts a very long list of famous former patrons, from Dylan Thomas to Aleister Crowley. Once owned by Hoare & Co, and later by Charrington’s. It has been fantastically restored by Samuel Smiths, who have returned it to a six bar layout, with cut-class and decorative tiling.

We have visited this pub once, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
