My first visit here and I very much agree with Jack Williams' comments on his visit to this pub. I did like the way that the staff took the trouble to speak to each individual customer to warn anyone who had parked close to the river to move their cars before the tide came in. We had a nice buffet luncheon.

Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%)3.40GoodThe Sambrook's had run out and had not yet been replaced so I tried this, I must say that I preferred it to the Wandle.
Windsor & Eton - Silent Knight of the Garter3.80Good
Sambrook's - Wandle3.80AcceptableThis ran out and was later replaced by Silent Knight of the Garter. Much discussion amongst our group about Sambrook's brewery.

Late afternoon visit after Kew Gardens (about a mile away). Meeting up with an old friend. We had a fairly ordinary meal and was disappointed by the beers I tried - shame as there was a good selection - maybe unlucky or too many ales on? 10% discount for CAMRA on cask ales advertised and given happily The pub interior is excellent though and we parked right outside. There is a small quiet road between the pub and the river - the boat race comes past here. I liked it despite the beer.
