I found myself here again as the convenient venue for a meeting of mates. Not so painful this time, although I don't remember seeing quite so many heavily pissed adults in a 'village' pub before. Many of them over 50.

Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00GoodActually served in good condition, full of trademark Harvey's estery yeast. Worthy of a second pint.
Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Courage Best Bitter (use Marston's entry now please)4.00Not Tried
Greene King - Abbot5.00Not TriedIt took my mate a pint and a half, followed by a swig of my Harvey's to come to the conclusion that this was 'shit'.

Second visit to this pub. The first, Sunday lunchtime a couple of summers ago, a fistfight spilled out of the pub and literally through the bench table we had been sat. This time all was going well until one unpleasant 50-something local did his utmost, without success, to provoke our group into a confrontation. A shame as the guv'nor and barstaff were friendly and welcoming and many others were enjoying the festive atmosphere. We were even offered mince pies by the table next to us. But it's rough - and the beer's not up to much either.
