Mid afternoon and rammed with many folk standing despite a table available under the staircase to the upper level which suited our group of now 4 of us.

First visit to the National poty 22. Amazing place in middle of castle. I could see why this place has won the big prize the moment we walked through the door. 8 ales on handpump, at least one from their own brewery. Camra discount offered. £6.30 for 3 halves. Cant have any more as im driving.

In Market Street, home to Tamworth Brewery with downstairs and upstairs rooms effectively the brewery tap. Winner of CAMRA's National Pub of the Year for 2022 and 2023 too, quite an accolade. 8 handpumps. Selected as one of the last 4 in the CAMRA National 2023 Pub of the Year competition.
