Busy with many bemused and curious friendly locals to whom our party gatecrashed their peaeceful lunchtime session! Superb and well organised service by the landlady who ushered us towards the reserved back room and took everyone's orders in one go!

The pub is found in Talkin, Cumbria, CA8 1LE.

Since taking over in 1997 the present owners have made this probably the most popular pub in the vicinity. The winning formula includes three regular real ales with an occasional guest mainly from a local brewery , a superbly stocked bar, friendly efficient staff, no television and meticulous attention to detail. With a golf course and country park within two miles and plenty of other outdoor activities available locally, being on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it attracts visitors from far outside the North Cumbria area.

We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried 1 of them.
