Early evening. I’d aimed for the Park Inn next door - but no real ale so came here. First impressions rather flat and a bit depressing but the ships’ plaques were interesting and I got chatting to an 84 year old ex-Teddy Boy, Fred, who had some interesting anecdotes about this area back in the 1950s and 1960s.
