Mighty Oak - Helios | 4.00 | ![]() | This Mighty Oak-brewed Essex blonde from Maldon presented a good head and lacing and lasting throughout. A fruit-infused first hit. A pleasantly dry fruity hoppiness rising aided by its First Gold and Azzaca hops*. A hoppy note or two jumping with its fruitiness. Then a hoppiness gently bobbing up and down before sailing off with its dryness lingering. Very refreshing and did just the job before our walk via the Wetherspoons to Leigh-on-Sea Brewery's taproom to meet up with some SE London CAMRA friends. *First Gold, a dwarf British hop, offers a blend of citrus (orange), spice and floral notes. Azacca is a modern American hop known for its tropical fruit (mango, papaya), citrus (grapefruit, orange) and piney characteristics. |
Ampersand - Runner - porter | 4.10 | Not Tried | From a small brewery based in Diss in Norfolk, south-west of Norwich and on the Suffolk border, brewing a range of core and seasonal beers. |
