The reassuring clunk of bolts being opened 3 minutes before 13.00 opening by the friendly and welcoming barmaid who'd spotted us eagerly approaching this fine Edwardian manor with its equally appealing opulent interior made for a relaxed and pleasant stay with the sun streaming through the windows brightening up the bar area. Soon many groups arrived during our short stay.
