Harvey's - Olympia | 4.30 | ![]() | Presented with good head and lacing and lasting on this golden ale from Lewes in Sussex. A fruit-infused hoppy first hit. A dry malty bitterness from its Fuggles and Goldings hops then rose up in the mouthfeel and its hop-infused fruitiness lingered on. Very thirst-quenching and moreish after our walk on the adjoining playing fields at the rear of the pub with our faithful hound. |

The pub is found in Cudham, Greater London, TN14 7QB.
Located in Cudham Lane South. This fine old pub which is now independently run and serving 3 real ales on visiting in May 2025, was owned by the Fleet Brewery of Lowfield Street, Dartford, until 1865, and then owned by the Dartford Brewery. It grew out of a farm dwelling with stables that was built during the reign of Charles I in 1628. It became an alehouse in 1729 and was owned by a blacksmith's family. In 1730, the sign of The Blacksmith’s Arms was hung on the present site. In 1865, The Blacksmith’s Arms was purchased by one Richard Relph whose wife bore him fifteen children, one of whom, born at the inn in 1868, named Harry, went on to become famous as the legendary music hall star “Little Tich” (1868 – 1928) and pictures of him adorn some of the walls inside. The pub has an extensive L-shaped bar and a separate dining room on the left as you come in through the front entrance. A pleasant rear garden has featured in the National Gardens Scheme. Dogs are welcome in the bar area and garden. The pub can be easily reached using the Orpington R5/R10 bus service which stops outside but the service is infrequent so checking the timetable is recommended. The pub has its own carpark and the adjoining playing fields at the pub’s rear have a public carpark as well on your right as you face the pub from the road.
We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried 1 of them.
