Re-opened last week after 18 months shut for refurbishment after flooding, noticeable changes are new bar top that looks rather out of place and a new stone floor. 2nd visit after coming in for opening last weekend 4 hand pumps with three ales currently available.
Franklins - Citra IPA5.50AcceptableCloudy tasted ok wondered if these beers have been rushed out all all not quite right.

Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Pleasure Seekers3.70AcceptableNot sure I have got this one right cant find any info about it anywhere, think it may be a new brewery brewing out of Wells & Youngs

Average or below average experience. Two Franklin's beers on; English Garden and Citra. EG was cloudy and ran out almost immediately with nothing to replace it. Citra was average and expensive. Jamaican food was good and worth trying. Overall a very tired appearance - very different to earlier reviews.
Franklins - English Garden Golden Ale3.80PoorCloudy and end of barrel with no replacement
Franklins - Citra IPA5.50PoorFirst pint cloudy and dirty glass. Second pint better but questionable cleanliness around the bar area.

Hop Back - Summer Lightning5.00ExcellentA new cask just went on. Good stuff @ £3.85 pint!
Marston's - Wychwood Hobgoblin Ruby Beer (was Hobgoblin)4.50ExcellentFresh on and in good nick tonite. £3.75 pint!
18 Jul 2012 (Alenomore)
18:30 visit and only me and the barman here. Hot foot, off the train from Beltring (War & Peace show!), this is the first Real Ale emporium you'll encounter towards the County Town.
Hop Back - Summer Lightning5.00ExceptionalOut of three handpumps, this was the sole offering today. Must admit, it was 5*, and so it should be at £3.85p a pint? For the record, I believe this is the priciest pint of Real Ale in town??
