Visits Details

21 May 2017 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening until 11.30pm close. Since last visit the CAMRA discount has been slashed from 50p to 20p a pint. Also seems that outside festivals the real ale range has become less micro-adventurous.

Evening until 11.30pm close. Pub had had a very busy day, just two beers left on, both allegedly festival leftovers "blended" by the pub.

Evening until 11.30pm close. To think that 14 hours before the road outside would have been a throng of London Marathon runners. Marathon Weekend beer festival in full swing.

Evening until a later than usual midnight close. A most lively Ska band was playing and had most of the floor dancing, singing along and arm waving. The lady saxophonist was particularly impressive.

The pub is found in Charlton, Greater London, SE7 8UD.

One of two pubs in The Village. Refurbished some time ago and now sports bare floorboards throughout. A single L-shaped bar serves a single bar floor. Tell-tale doors show a past multi-room venue. Large garden. Re-opened once more in early September 2015, seemingly out of a Pubco's grip, with a greater emphasis on cask ales plus some live music. Several upstairs rooms opened in summer 2017, one with a bar but not serving real ale. 20p price discount on pints only of cask ales for card carrying CAMRA members. 8 handpumps. Closed, without prior warning, on Monday 9th March 2020.

We have visited this pub 132 times, seen 324 different beers and tried 154 of them.
