Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

Philip PirripNot Tried05 Dec 2014 Usual 'Spoon's trick. Clip showing but not available. Barman said line being cleaned and would be on tomorrow. When asked by clip not turned round he said he did not know and did not turn it round. So as I left I turned it round to put JDW the right side of the law and customer focus!

Bear & Ragged StaffGood05 Mar 2013 Very good all round bitter / pale ale. Lots going on in the glass, would happily spend an evening drinking this beer.
Bear & Ragged StaffGood18 Feb 2012 Not quite as complex as I remember, nevertheless a good bitter. Lovely malt, a little fruit and a nice hoppy, medium bitter finish, also quite crisp and clean. All in good balance and with a good body.

Bear & Ragged StaffGood29 Aug 2011 I had looked forward to a pint from this brewery for some time and I wasn't disappointed. There was an awful lot going on in the glass at various stages - fruity, malty, nutty and hoppy - and they seemed to be in good balance. Hopefully we will get the chance to taste other ales from this brewery.

IanGood07 Jun 2008 I admit that sometimes I take againse Welsh breweries for no good reason (except Otley and Evan Evans), but this has changed my perception. Gold with lasting beige head. Looks in good nick. Decent malt hop yeast balanced aroma. Hop and toffee in mouth. Very good nick. Surprisngly good flavours. Finish has some refreshing acidity. A very pleasant bitter.
BlairGood07 Jun 2008 Golden in colour with a light citrus and hop flavour.
