| Hogan Sampling | | 20 Jun 2026 | 2nd beer of this visit: Came with good head and lasting lacing on this amber-coloured best bitter from Sudbury, Suffolk. A dry bitter first bite. A crisp hoppy bitterness rising. A nutty crystal maltiness emerging with very minimal caramel sweetness. Its local English barley including Maris Otter grown on their own farm lending a biscuity toffee infusion and a sprinkling of Crystal Malt giving the beer its signature nuttiness. Its hoppy bitterness winning over from a blend of traditional, UK-grown English hops providing a grassy, floral, and grapefruit-infused bitterness. A dry fruity and floral hoppiness sailing out. Top condition it was in. |
