Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

City Arms, Canterbury, Kent

AndrewExcellent06 Jan 2006 A deep brown colour with a very malty and slightly caramel bite to it. Low hopping levels meant this was a good winter warmer of a pint. The finish was slightly tart and sort lived

IanGood11 Dec 2005 Dark mahogany with thin beige head. V malty with raisins, sultanas, some choc. Not a huge aroma. Warming and sweetish malt, some dry hop finish. Some brown sugar. Quite a good winter beer with plenty of rich fruit
