Cosy comfortable hotel bar with subdued lighting and soft background music made for a comfortable relaxed atmosphere to enjoy one's beer.

Lunchtime busy outside on a warm pleasant day, quieter inside so we perched at a table in the bar area. Much frantic un co-ordinated activity by the trio of waitresses made for a rather unorganised service.

Sunday morning and very busy both inside and outside, it made me wonder just what people did in the days when pubs were not allowed to open before noon on a Sunday.

Two of us came here for a lunch which turned out to be very disappointing, we were not warned of a delay to food orders when ordering, one of the meals that we chose from the menu was not available and the other they could not fully complete because they had run out of cauliflower pakoras. We waited well over one hour for the food to turn up which meant we had to have another beer to pass the time.

Late evening and time for a pint before our last bus back to Ashford. Comfortable relaxed atmosphere as usual here.

Mid afternoon and busy with drinkers enjoying the warm weather.

Sunday evening - a very relaxing atmosphere - a good few customers spread out round the very impressive bar area. We sat in comfy leather armchairs by the log fire. London prices. 2 beers especially brewed for the pub so I was told - Lions Den from Old Dairy and Lionheart from Wychwood.

Closed for a few days whilst work is carried out to strengthen the floor. The pub and hotel should be reopen very soon so I have not flagged this up as a closed pub.
