27 Dec 2025 (Magnus Greel)
Mid afternoon and busy with, would you believe, a child's party in full swing with balloons and other party paraphernalia strewn around! Seems nowhere is sacred anymore?
| Pig & Porter - Got The Face On | 4.50 | | A complex friuty, wheaty, oaty fare with flavours of mandarins, nectarines and melon contributed to my 5 a day! |
| Pig & Porter - Pigs in Blankets | 3.40 | Not Tried | |
| Three Acre - Christmas Old Ale | 5.60 | Not Tried | |

04 Dec 2024 (Magnus Greel)
Mid afternoon friendly welcome from the bubbly knowledgeable barmaid, a few others in including a couple of chaps playing chess, such is the chilled out laid back atmosphere as always here with subdued lighting and soft background music playing.
| Oakham - Inferno | 4.00 | | Hoppy peachy smoky dry and flavoursome golden ale. |
| Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
05 Oct 2024 (Philip Pirrip)
Mid evening visit.

27 Sep 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Afternoon visit after local chores. Good to see one of the Guvs serving.
| Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Good condition and temperature but once again who knows what Harvey's Best should taste like |
| Verdant - Penpol | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
01 Apr 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit. Noisy with loud conversation and all seats taken bar one or two.
| Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Good to see pub buying Harvey's in pins not firkins in view of smaller turnover of cask here compared with keg fizz |
| Salopian - Oracle | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Glasshouse - Illuminomi | 4.70 | Not Tried | Pre-warned had been on quite a time |
27 Jan 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit. Never known it so full with people having to stand too.
| Harvey's - Old Ale (or Sussex XXXX Old Ale) | 4.30 | | Replacement ale was from a newly opened minikeg can - very fresh and acceptable but no way would want another |
| Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | After a few sips I could not have finished it. Very poor - poured from a metal pin and poured flat and lifeless and very tired. Replacement given and acknowledged as virtually from an empty cask |
| Hobsons - Twisted Spire | 3.50 | Not Tried | |
24 Dec 2022 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening visit until its "until late" close. The temptation was more Harvey's Christmas Ale. Ended on a bottle of "wot the monks drink" Westmalle 4.8% Extra, a fairly new addition to its commercial output.
| Harvey's - Christmas Ale | 7.50 | | A whole pint as Santa's nightcap |
| Kent - Pale | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
23 Dec 2022 (Philip Pirrip)
Brief afternoon visit after local chores.
| Harvey's - Christmas Ale | 7.50 | | Pleasant surprise in a gravity served pin. Only time for a half as later commitments required some degree of sobriety |
| Burning Sky - Plateau (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |
| Two by Two - Session IPA | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
20 Oct 2022 (Philip Pirrip)
Late afternoon visit after local chores.
| Kirkstall - Kirkstall Pale Ale | 4.00 | | Excellent condition but flavour was rather boring and one dimensional |
| Kent - KGB or Kent Golding Bitter | 4.10 | Not Tried | A well tipped cask |
