A pleasant little place. Lunchtime and the topic of conversation was gin, the tipple of choice for three out of the four other customers present.

Bank Holiday Monday afternoon, I was expecting the pub to open at 5pm as is usual on a Monday but instead it had opened at 12:00 and was closing at 5pm so it is a good job that I was early. The seating area was full so I sat at the bar and had a chat to the landlord who told me that he had had a very busy weekend.

Evening visit soon after opening time. The landlord informed that he has two casks from the Four Candles Brewery in the cellar and that he hopes to have their beers on a regular basis.

Evening. Found after a short walk around and asking, eventually, someone who knew of it. Immediately friendly house with a wide range of customer types.

The pub is found in Sandgate, Kent, CT20 3BY.
Micropub opened on 28 August 2015 in Sandgate High Street, it consists of a single room with small bar counter and beers served by gravity from an adjacent cold room. Note the door in the ceiling. Four Candles's beers are almost always on, as the landlord often goes and brews there. Closed in June 2023 with rumours it might be taken over by Docker Brewery as a keg only taproom. Re-opened run by Docker Brewery with new name on Tuesday 18th July 2023, and principally as a keg house selling its own beer.
