Evening. The stove on the front wall was positively posterior warming so I soon moved away! Good to see an emigrée from The Door Hinge now drinking here.

Amazing micro pub. Needs to be seen to be believed. At the back of Asdas car park. Took a while to find.

The pub is found in Strood, Kent, ME2 4SJ.

Quirky Micropub in North Street which officially opened on Monday 2nd March 2015 in a railway arch at the rear of shop premises. Originally rumoured it would be called Strood Emporium. Access is through a signed wooden gate in North Street then up an alley into a garden yard. The pub is well disguised inside a railway arch so you can hear trains passing overhead. High bench seating and tables. Walls adorned with bric-brac such as bottles, blowlamps, toy trains, oil lamps and various railway signs. Railway track is embossed on to the floor. Old National cash register is in live use with an abacus above it for the proprietors to tally up their own beer intake. Modern stove with chimney flue on the front wall keeps the pub cosy. Real ales and ciders are served from a temperature controlled rear room on gravity dispense. No children permitted under 18 - strictly enforced. Cash payment only. Local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year 2022 & 2019. CAMRA West Kent Pub of the Year 2019. ** CLOSED ALL DAY ON SUNDAY.**

We have visited this pub 6 times, seen 23 different beers and tried 11 of them.
