Late afternoon to early evening, a few chaps sat at the bar and another couple of groups dotted about. Friendly welcome with a chilled out relaxed atmosphere made for an enjoyable stay.
Kent - Raspberry Beret | 4.80 | | Strong raspberry hit with a sour hit on the palate. Very Belgian minus the fizz.. |
Iron Pier - Best Bitter | 4.80 | | Nutty slightly malty with a subtle sweetness for this delicious cooking bitter. |

Quieter than expected for a mid evening just a few groups dotted about in this dimly lit cavernous subterranean gem. The flickering flames from the oil lamps adorning each table made for a delightfully macabre gothic atmosphere...
Five Points - Railway Porter | 4.80 | | Freshly scraped off the nearby roadworks this syrup of bitumen and molasses created a complex flavour feast with a bitter lingering burnt coffee hit, a tinge of blackcurrant with a beefy oxo finish - a perfect end to today's proceedings.. |
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Copper Top | 4.10 | Not Tried
RedWillow - Headless | 3.90 | Not Tried

Sunday until 7pm closing. The seating here is much more comfortable than on my previous visits, the rest of our group of five got stuck in to the so called Craft beers, I stuck to traditional cask.

20 Oct 2018 (Stephen Harris)
Leyton Orient have been drawn at Maidstone in the FA Cup (it doesn’t go well) and I needed little persuasion that this was the place where we should spend the pre-match session. A very nice bar and handy for Maidstone West station.
Cellar Head - Single Hop Pioneer | 4.60 | | Golden and full-flavoured, although it fell a little flat after a while. |
Brew York - Goose Willis | 5.30 | | From keg, but widely recommended by others present. This one is proper sour. Gooseberry. |
Bristol Beer Factory - Sugar Plum Shake (collaboration with Tiny Rebel) | 5.00 | | Cloudy gold. Sweet fruit and a bitter finish. |
Titanic - Plum Porter | 4.90 | Not Tried | It is not every day that one is faced with a choice of plum beers in a pub. |
Tiny Rebel - Espress Yourself | 4.60 | Not Tried
Iron Pier - Pretious Al | 4.30 | Not Tried
14 Aug 2018 (Stephen Harris)
I bumped into a friend at Maidstone West station and he suggested going here for a pre-match pint. A nice bar. With Leyton Orient playing football in Maidstone this-evening, I guess it was inevitable that I would know most of the customers here.
Kent - The New Black | 4.80 | | Very nice. Along Black IPA lines. |
Iron Pier - Perry St Pale | 3.70 | | Pale and dry with spicy hops. |
One Mile End Brew Co. (formerly Mulligans at the White Hart and then WH Brew Pub) - Dockers Delight | 4.50 | Not Tried

Tuesday afternoon and at first I was the only customer but was joined by another soon afterwards. I had a good chat with the barman and enjoyed a BLT sandwich for just £2.50 My only complaint about this place is the uncomfortable stools.

Went here after a Maidstone United game. None of the taxi drivers at Maidstone East station knew where it was even though we had the address! We walked back to the station....Very quiet on a Saturday tea time
