Just after noon. Only two ales on - and both pale unfortunately as I’d recommended the pub to a couple of friends who like their ales on the dark side. Really enjoyed my pint of Tonbridge IPA but we decided to decamp to the Firkin after looking at the food prices (sandwiches at £9).
Tonbridge - IPA | 4.80 | | A superb pint full of citrus flavours and a great body. |

Early evening on a wet night. This pub has been expanded significantly since my last visit with the ground floor extended through an arch into the adjacent property. The decor of old metal signs and other 20th century memorabilia has been carried through. A good number of eaters and drinkers, good feel to the place.
Mad Cat - Long Tail | 3.70 | | 2023 green hop version. |
Mad Cat - Crispin Amber | 4.00 | Not Tried
Tonbridge - IPA | 4.80 | Not Tried

Early evening and very busy, diners were having to wait for tables. I wondered why so many pubs in this town no longer bother to open on Tuesdays. Service was very good and friendly. I shared a table with a group of people from Dover who were having drinks before going to the Mexican Restaurant opposite the pub.
Hop Fuzz - American | 4.20 | | In top condition. |

Pig & Porter - Perpetual Paradox | 4.20 | | A paradox indeed - a light taste from a dark beer. |
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Blue Top | 4.80 | Not Tried

Late lunchtime - just a couple of other customers in. Our group of 7 debated whether this was a micro-pub or not - no consensus- but we all liked it nonetheless.
