First in on a rainy October Wednesday lunchtime.We sat in the front bar on the long settles:the pub soon filled up with beaters from a local shoot.Much enthusiasm on both sides of the bar.

Superb local pub, situated on the bank of the River Cover. This was a favourite haunt of Richard Whiteley, who used to enjoy the Ham, Eggs and Chips, which was excellent.

We have visited this pub 11 times, seen 34 different beers and tried 23 of them.
