With a smell of lunchtime's cooking and a completely uninspiring range of five ales we moved on without purchase.

Very busy but service was quick. Beers on the board didn't match those on the pumps.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harviestoun - Bitter & Twisted3.80AcceptableEither this beer has changed or I have. Deeper gold and and a more pronounced sweet, malt base. Some light hopping but none of the citrus flavours or bitterness I remember.

Again let down by Pale Rider. 'On' on the blackboard and pump-clip - 'Off' when ordered. Lazy, again. Service here needs to improve.

Would have tried the Golden Best but the one member of staff seen was more interested in talking to friends than serving others.

The pub is found in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, AB11 5BB.

Comfortable, old style, split level pub near Aberdeen's Mercat Cross in Castle Street. It's a popular place and can feel quite full at times but you'll nearly always be able to grab a seat. Although owned by Greene King it does manage a broad selection of guest ales though don't expect anything too out of the ordinary.

We have visited this pub 14 times, seen 27 different beers and tried 3 of them.
