2pm to meet a cou0le of old friends. Busy with a “bit of a do” going on in the garden. Rather slow service.

Stop 3. A Xmas party just finishing in the left bar - Xmas jumpers etc in abundance. 4 pumps - but only 2 ales - the landlord explained he prefers to keep the quality up by keeping the next barrels (of the same 2 beers) ready to go. I understand the sentiment- but it wouldn’t convince me to make this my local.

Lunchtime, a few in the bar - probably more in the garden. Nice and comfortable, pleasant bar staff. I booked for Sunday lunch as it looked interesting and reasonable value.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Samuel Adams Blonde Ambition4.50GoodA very well kept, tasty blonde ale. No evidence of the provenance on the pump clip (as expected with Sheps) but certainly distinctive from the normal Sheps stable.

Well my bus was delayed so John and I came here. The garden was shut so we sat in the park next door. Top stuff.

Unscheduled stop as we'd missed the train. The usual Sheps suspects were on, but by now I was on the whiskey...oh dear. Half full at around 19:00
