Lunchtime. A few drinkers around the bar area. No hand pumps but eight fikins on a stillage at the rear of the bar area. No food.

The pub is found in High Wych, Hertfordshire, CM21 0HZ.
A detached whitewashed exterior house in a village near Sawbridgeworth. By early 1970s one of the last few pubs in the area to sell real ale still and the only one selling on gravity dispense. In those days sold Courage ales. Pub considerably updated since then but still an emphasis on real ale and has been the local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year a number of times. Still no handpumps - all ale sold direct from the cask.
We have visited this pub twice, seen 10 different beers and tried 5 of them.
