Three of us met here for the start of a mid afternoon to mid evening session however the place was busy and getting busier so we opted to remain put and seated.

First customer and time for a swift pint after duties in Canterbury before catching the train to Margate on a sunny and unseasoably mild February day.

I used to like this pub when it had world bank notes on the ceiling, partitioned booths, and a proper wee-on-the-wall toilet. Now-days it's like a posh London pub trying to be a country pub.

A fairly busy midweek evening with a mix of drinkers and diners. A quiet relaxed feel with even a chap stuck into a book of biblical sized proportions, given my protensity for exaggerating!

Mid afternoon drinks with family we haven’t seen for a while. I believe that this pub changed hands shortly before COVID a struck. The previous owner had a lucky break. Nice to see this thriving - the, mainly covered, garden was very busy. But rather expensive and an unimaginative beer choice so I probably won’t be rushing back.

Fairly busy with a few groups in though well spaced thanks to the layout. Friendly and welcoming with efficient table service made for a pleasant relaxed stay.

Stop 10. Quiet. I checks that the vintage Jimmy Saville poster advertising the railways had been removed. Had been a feature for years on the wall facing the gents, most off-putting even before his notoriety.
