Very quiet so we sat in the corner where the poster of Jimmy Savile used to stare down at you.

Mid day, the bar staff kindly opened up slightly early as they spotted us waiting outside. Our group appeared to be the only customers who were not eating. We were impressed by the Meccano models and Michelin Men that adorned the pub.

Sun was shining and we were hungry so this seemed a no brainer. Garden was full of people enjoying themselves and a lot were eating. Had an awful wait for my second round due to a barman seemingly ignored my presence, slight dampener to the visit.

Very busy but we got the table by the side of the bar that used to have a poster-up of Jimmy Savile advertising the Intercity Trains from the 80's. Needless to say that all that remains of the poster are the 4 screws that held it up.

This pub in St Radigund's Street has undergone quite an extensive refurbishment and is now a very nice pub reminiscent of a very comfy hotel bar. The garden to the rear is now very impressive. Books and board games available.
