In Lower Clapton Road, this pub was present by 1791 and historically was tied to the Mann, Crossman & Paulin Brewery of Whitechapel, eventually passing to Watney’s. It was rebuilt in its present form in the early 1890s. It is a large pub, with a spacious and comfortable rear area and an open-to-view kitchen. Backyard.
