Saturday evening. Quite a few in watching the early evening football. Disappointing beer selection.

Not at it's best. Tired and lacking the Oakham freshness.

Pleasant pub, very dimly lit. Busy with ramblers. Nine cask beers on at lunchtime, and both that I tried were in rather tired condition.

Clearly a good quality, pale and hoppy beer in here somewhere – but this pint had none of the crispness and vitality it should have. I wouldn’t have a second one.
Surrey Hills - Shere Drop

Golden and mellow but a bit too warm and limp.

A nice pint.

Seemed a bit harsh and hoppy rather than lemony but I must have had the last pint as it was taken off.

This pub is in a lovely village just off the M25/M20. There is a picturesque river running through it and the buildings are superb. The pub has a central serving area with 9 handpumps. Painted freizes on the walls and doors are interesting. My feeling is that they try to do too many beers. Reasonable crowd in mid Saturday afternoon.
