Early evening visit for a meal. We sat inside, most diners were outside in the sunshine. The decor inside is now looking very tired. House bitter also on.

Afternoon visit - lovely walk from Thanington across country along streams and through orchards. There used to be hop gardens here when I was a kid. The pub has had an external makeover since the last time I was here - the car park is now the “Olive Grove” with large soft seating areas. The tiered garden above has also been extended and has soft seating as well as traditional trestle tables. Very pleasant in the autumn sunshine. 12 walkers arrived doing Ramsgate to Rochester over two days - fair play to them.

I hadn’t been here for a good while and was cycling past. Won’t be back in a hurry at these prices. Very much a food place.

Pub 3. In Harbledown. We got the bus here (which was late). The pub is a lounge like affair with modern music piped in. There was a staffing issue (according to a chap at the bar) which meant we stood waiting to be served for about 10 minutes. It didn't look like we were going to be served anytime soon after that so we left.

Early evening - I was the only custmer for a while. Staff were friendly and had time to chat - the bank holiday weekend had been heaving apparently. Rather an unimaginative line-up of ales.
