Early evening visit for a meal. We sat inside, most diners were outside in the sunshine. The decor inside is now looking very tired. House bitter also on.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Pardoner's Ale | 3.80

Afternoon visit - lovely walk from Thanington across country along streams and through orchards. There used to be hop gardens here when I was a kid.
The pub has had an external makeover since the last time I was here - the car park is now the “Olive Grove” with large soft seating areas. The tiered garden above has also been extended and has soft seating as well as traditional trestle tables. Very pleasant in the autumn sunshine. 12 walkers arrived doing Ramsgate to Rochester over two days - fair play to them.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - Best Bitter | 3.70 | | Good condition, pleasant enough. Badged as The Old Coach and Horses Best Bitter. |
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Pardoner's Ale | 3.80 | | A little cloudy and a bit tired. |

I hadn’t been here for a good while and was cycling past. Won’t be back in a hurry at these prices. Very much a food place.
Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | | £4.45 a pint - and not at its best. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried

Pub 3. In Harbledown. We got the bus here (which was late). The pub is a lounge like affair with modern music piped in. There was a staffing issue (according to a chap at the bar) which meant we stood waiting to be served for about 10 minutes. It didn't look like we were going to be served anytime soon after that so we left.

Early evening - I was the only custmer for a while. Staff were friendly and had time to chat - the bank holiday weekend had been heaving apparently.
Rather an unimaginative line-up of ales.

Mid evening - a few diners in - no other drinkers.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 3 | 5.00 | | Possibly the cycle ride before helped - but this tasted like nectar. Cool, fresh and sparklingly clear. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried

Saturday evening - not busy but ok - the bar area here is not very comfortable though - feels like a dining waiting area.

Early evening - a few in the bar - plenty of diners.
Sharp's - Atlantic Pale Ale | 4.20 | | Reasonable condition - but where do they think they are at £4 a pint? |

Restaurant busy, bar fairly empty until late evening. Pleasant ambience.
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | | Heard this was the new guest ale - good condition, consistent Pride flavour, very acceptable. |
