Just after 4 and a wet walk from the Firkin Alehouse. Blazing wood-burning stove very welcome. No other customers in but we got a friendly greeting and good service including a couple of tasters. All key keg ale from Angels & Demons I think - and all over £5 a pint. Thirds available. 11 ales chalked up.

This place for me is a fine example of style over substance, 16 of us arrived and had wait over 15 minutes to be served as the one member of staff was helping some drunk man how to text, stood straight in front of our group she failed to acknowledge us and continued with her supposedly more important job. Not worth trying to explain to her as foreign. Eventually we got served.

This pub is now firmly back on the cask scene with handpumps installed. I came for the launch of Troubadour Ale which I tried and enjoyed. I had a good chat with the brewer from Angels and Demons.

Evening visit until 10pm close. No real ale on, there rarely is apparently. Tried (both Angels & Demons) Bombay Social and Raspberry Black Taxi to the Moon keg beers - full of flavour but very gassy and not a patch on the more rounded cask versions.

No cask beer on so I had a half of keg and moved on. Cask should be available in a week or two.

Lunchtime visit, the owners are just back from Hong Kong and Singapore and are really enjoying the cold weather. Reasonably busy considering the pub was closed for most of January.

Evening until 10.30pm close. As always beaten to the earlier lunchtime first day session by ChrisE who is up with the lark or never sleeps! Very hospitable with gratis buffet tonight and run by a very friendly family, all mucking in tonight, who were inspired and helped by the Guv at The Just Reproach, Deal in setting up and training for their venture. Very much a work in progress with boarded up broken front window and it was a unique feature to have the lights flickering as an unintended consequence of someone regularly leaning against the panel of switches.

The pub is found in Folkestone, Kent, CT20 1JR.

Started as a micropub in Tontine Street in a converted former newsagent/food shop, which opened on 29th April 2017. Live traditional music, poetry & storytelling helped the pub live up to its name. High bench seating and high tables on the left hand side and low tables and chairs on the right. Unisex toilet. Small raised performance stage by the front window. Piano. Real ales and ciders were sold on gravity dispense from a temperature controlled cellar room. Wine too. Relaunched and renamed in late January 2019 after a short period of closure but closed soon thereafter. Re-opened and relaunched on 3rd May 2019 as the taproom for the local Angels & Demons Brewery with beers sold through 10 wall taps mainly from Angels & Demons but from other breweries too. Beers are sold in thirds, halves and pints but are not strictly priced pro-rata. Handpumps were added to the bar counter in October 2019.

We have visited this pub 10 times, seen 17 different beers and tried 11 of them.
