Late afternoon visit. Like most of Borough Market this was frenetic, especially at the bar, bordering on unpleasant. Did find a quiet back corner to sit in.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Major agitation when pouring, with handpump jerked instead of gently and smoothly pulled. Lacklustre, rather fresh tasting Harvey's Best |

Adnams - Mosaic Pale Ale | 4.10 | Not Tried

Lytham - I.P.A. | 5.60 | | Hazy gold. Nice, spicy, English hop flavours. |
Bloomsbury - Black IPA | 4.20 | | I’ve lost track of where Bloomsbury beers are brewed just now – is it Wooden Hand? This is a pleasant enough Black IPA without being full-throttle. |

An evening visit and the whole Borough Market area is thronged.
Hambleton - Iced | 4.20 | | Pale. Nicely hopped and with tea flavours too. |
Hammerpot - Oyster Pond Stout | 4.20 | | Near black in colour. Very fruity and a touch sweet. |
B&T (Banks & Taylor's) - Shefford 37° South | 4.80 | | A golden beer that probably has some nice hops – but spoilt here by warm temperature and flat condition. |

Early Sunday evening and this pub has a relaxed atmosphere. I sat at the bar in the back area.
Partners - American Craft Ale | 4.50 | | A golden beer with plenty of US hop flavours. |
Three Sods - Trade Union | 4.50 | | Very pale and hoppy. Just a little bit short of body I thought. |

I’m here with Chris B after a full day’s cricket at the Oval in scorching weather. We have some fluids to replace.
Clouded Minds - N253 Oatmeal Pale Ale | 3.90 | | Very good. |
Salopian - Shropshire Gold | 3.80 | | Golden beer that slips down very nicely indeed. |

Exceptionally crowded tonight and they are running out of both beer and glasses. I list only the beers that were available on the back bar – I could not get near the front bar.
Rudgate - Wangle Hopper | 4.80 | | I had expected from the name for this to be a hoppy beer. In fact it is an amber-coloured beer with red fruit flavours. |
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | Not Tried
Branscombe (was Branscombe Vale) - Summa That | 5.00 | Not Tried
25 May 2017 (Stephen Harris)
I had planned to go to the Rake where Bianca Road Brewery were holding court, but that little pub was packed beyond capacity. Looked in here instead and found my old mate Colin G installed in the back bar so decided to stay for a couple.
Kent - Old Jamaica | 5.10 | | A sticky, black Stout with lots of ginger. |
