First stop after arriving in York for the first time. What a great, quirky little pub this is! Guv'nor very friendly and welcoming. Meals kept simple and wholesome and an excellent cask and bottled beer selection, including three brewed exclusively for the pub by Milestone of Newark. Notice advising that sparklers could be removed on request was a nice touch. As was the toilet bowl decoratively placed next to our table.
BeerABVScoreNotes
RCH - Old Slug Porter4.50ExcellentDark brown, delicious fusion of frappé and sweet chocolate. Really well balanced, easy going porter.
Rooster's - Good Cheer3.70GoodVery pale, light and floral. Dry and hoppy.

The pub is found in York, North Yorkshire, YO1 6HU.

Once carried the apt dedication of the Lendal Bridge Inn owing to its proximity to the bridge. Has been the top ticking pub in York for a long time. Can get very busy as it is quite small. In mid 2012 an extension of the building towards the river nearly complete. A correspondent has advised that: Extension nearly finished. Fireplace remains. To left and right thereof, voids through which one may (soon) pass into new room, already ceilinged with doors and adorned murally with tinny adverts. Leading to large patio doors leading to large patio. A correspondent has advised at 10.07.2012 that the extension is now open and in use. The bar and ceiling are made out of old doors! 8 handpumps on the bar. Closed late October 2024 pending change of ownership and stated conversion into an Irish themed bar.

We have visited this pub 17 times, seen 46 different beers and tried 29 of them.
