The pub has changed A LOT since I was last here. There's a back room and a whole new side room that felt styled like a cowboy saloon. Still, the beer was good.

This pub has changed drastically since my last visit. I did not like it and just walked in one door and out of the other.

Evening. The immediate smell of fresh paint, following recent re-opening, led me to order only a half. A must visit to witness the completion of a two stage destruction of what was probably the best boozer style pub in the city. Now a noise shop to be avoided. I was quickly out into the street.

Evening. New Guvs seem very friendly. The internal changes have taken away some of the atmosphere.

12:45 Four others in. My first visit since the internal changes. Not impressed. Made a quirky interior less interesting. Shame. Visit was enhanced though by the arrival of the Harvey's horse drawn dray outside.

If in Brighton, come here. That's what my mental note says. My favorite pub in the town. Some folk-rock on the stereo. Friendly.

Evening. Undergoing external redecoration, internals already done. The really evocative large fairground framed poster has been replaced with a blackboard "Anyone for wine?" - progress or what!? NOT.

The pub is found in Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 4ED.

Once one of, if not THE, top Harvey's pub in Brighton. Central bar serves two rooms at the front with additional space off the lounge bar and then a lower bar at the rear. Used to be lots of character in this once great British boozer but several refurbishments have ruined the fittings and ambience. Usually 5 Harveys beers on handpump through a total of 8 handpumps (5 in front bar and 3 at the rear). Only 5 minutes walk from the railway station down the slope that goes under the front of the station thus on the opposite side of the railway to the Evening Star. Refurbished and updated in 2013 with some wooden partition replacements with glass panels and once again in early 2016 (with several months of closure) to update the lower bar area and complete the destruction.

We have visited this pub 34 times, seen 21 different beers and tried 15 of them.
