Came for the beer festival and managed to blag a lift from a non beer drinking friend. 20 beers to choose from several unknown to me.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Adnams - Southwold Bitter (was 3.7%)3.40ExcellentFinished with a pint of this from the bar, nice and classic Adnams but would have been better without the sparkler.

Came here from the Duck, two festivals on the same day.......mmmmmmmm. A much wider selection here and a much better choice. Quiet when we arrived but soon became busy.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Oakham - White Dwarf4.30ExcellentVery pale, crisp and hoppy, would never guess it was a wheat beer, very nice with a good dry finish.
Mauldons - Black Adder5.30GoodDark and bitter with a strong roast taste, full bodied with a long finish
Castle Rock - Black Gold3.50GoodA dark mild, very nice, quite hoppy for this style.
Arundel - Castle3.80GoodNice, some hops with an underlying sweetness

Walked over the hills from home and got here about 12ish. Warm, friendly welcome, sat in the beer garden where the landlord was sticking up posters advertising the Barham Beer Fest to be held at the pub on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd August.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Black Sheep - Best Bitter3.80GoodLandlady poured off about half a pint before serving mine. Nice malt but also a fresh hop at the end, really pretty good standard bitter.

A few locals were at the bar and the pub felt empty due to it's high ceilings. The fireplace had Mackleston of Hythe cut into it.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%)3.40AcceptableAn okay pint of this okay beer.
Greene King - Ruddles County4.30Not Tried
