20 Jul 2015 (Stephen Harris)
Early evening visit. Well-populated by City types. I didn’t stay long as the acoustics are terrible here and it was loud and echoey.
| Shiny - Pail Ale | 4.40 | | Golden, hoppy and bitter, with Ella and Chinook hops giving a long, bitter finish. |
| Dark Star - Summer Solstice | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Magic Rock - High Wire | 5.50 | Not Tried | |
| Burning Sky - Plateau (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |

30 Mar 2015 (Stephen Harris)
Early evening visit. Quite busy, although not a ‘City’ crowd tonight. The home-cooked pizzas are selling well.
| Bristol Beer Factory - Sorachi | 4.70 | | You can rely on BBF to do the single-hop thing well, and this is full of distinctive Sorachi hops. |
| Adnams - The Herbalist (collaboration with Magic Rock) | 4.80 | | Brewed at Adnams in collaboration with Magic Rock. Plenty of spicy Saison tastes and flavoured with an eclectic selection of herbs in addition to plenty of hops. |
| Bristol Beer Factory - Independence | 4.60 | Not Tried | |
| Magic Rock - Ringmaster | 3.90 | Not Tried | |
15 Jan 2015 (McGargle)
All male clientele. Friendly and enthusiastic staff.
| Beavertown - Black Betty | 7.40 | | Solid bodied and well hopped. Then I tried a Kernel Black IPA. This was good, the Kernel better. |
| Burning Sky - Plateau (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | | Pale, crisp and fresh. Ideal first beer. |
01 Oct 2014 (Stephen Harris)
An unplanned visit to break down some time while the District Line got its act together. Pretty busy in here in the early evening.
| Siren Craft - Under Current | 4.50 | | A satisfying, amber-coloured Pale Ale with oatmeal. |
| Kent - Simcoe | 4.50 | | The first pint out of a fresh cask and in fabulous condition. A really tasty, single-hop, golden beer. |
| Oakham - Citra | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Kent - KGB or Kent Golding Bitter | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Siren Craft - Sound Wave | 5.60 | Not Tried | |

| Burning Sky - Plateau (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |
31 Jul 2014 (Stephen Harris)
I had need to meet up with a friend after work in the City and we picked this pub as a venue.
| Kent - KGB or Kent Golding Bitter | 4.10 | | Very much a traditional English bitter. |
| Brew By Numbers - 01/04 Saison Ginger & Grapefruit | 6.00 | | On key-keg. Tasty, murky, Saison with flavours as expected from the beer’s name. |
| Bristol Beer Factory - Milk Stout | 4.50 | Not Tried | |
| Moor - Nor'Hop | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Bristol Beer Factory - Nova | 3.80 | Not Tried | I returned a sour pint and this was immediately taken off sale, with apologies offered and a replacement pint. |
21 Jul 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Early to mid-evening. Not too busy and a very interesting beer range tonight. I nearly succumbed to the temptation of a home-made pizza.
| Siren Craft - Limoncello IPA | 9.00 | | On keg dispense. An opaque amber colour. A brilliant beer with huge flavours. It starts lemony tart, then you get the malt backbone, warming alcohol, then back to lemon again for the finish. |
| Kent - Elderflower Saison | 4.50 | | A cloudy yellow colour and with a thick mouthfeel. Nice saison. Both spicy and fruity, tart, dry finish. |
| Bristol Beer Factory - Nova | 3.80 | | A lush, golden, hoppy pint. |
| Moor - Unfined Confidence | 4.60 | | Reddish and cloudy (I think all Moor beers are now unfined?). A bit too ‘red’ for me. |
| Oakham - Citra | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Kent - Session Pale | 3.70 | Not Tried | |
| Burning Sky - Plateau (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |
01 Jul 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Early evening visit and quite busy with World Cup football watchers.
| Kent - Simcoe | 4.50 | | Pale, dry, hoppy. |
| Bristol Beer Factory - Ten | 6.00 | | Strong, amber-coloured IPA. Does not seek to disguise its strength. |
| Oakham - JHB | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
| Hardknott - Lux Borealis Northern Light with Aurora Hops | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
| Burning Sky - Plateau (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |
03 Mar 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Bustling, loud and echoey on arrival, starting to thin out a bit by 8pm.
| Ilkley - Pata Negra | 6.20 | | How did we survive for so long before the invention of Black IPA? This one is heading towards ‘hoppy stout’ territory I think. |
| Quantum - American Light | 3.60 | | Golden. Very fruity, US hop tastes and a long, bitter aftertaste. This pint seemingly lacking in any malt backbone. |
| Oakham - Citra | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Moor - Amoor | 4.50 | Not Tried | |
| Moor - Nor'Hop | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
21 Jan 2014 (Stephen Harris)
A nice, calm atmosphere in here. City Boys all behaving themselves.
| Anarchy - Citra Star | 4.10 | | Exactly the sort of lip-smacking, pale, hoppy beer that tickles my fancy. |
| Arbor Ales - Motueka | 3.80 | | Really good. Arbor certainly know their hops. |
| Round Tower - Stout | 4.10 | | Nicely-rounded, black stout. |
| Redemption - Trinity | 3.00 | Not Tried | |
| Tiny Rebel - The Full Nelson | 4.80 | Not Tried | |
| Burning Sky - Devil's Rest IPA | 7.00 | Not Tried | |
