Plan B had to be put in to operation as the bus to Shadoxhurst failed to appear. Deserted when I entered but a barman appeared from the cellar and apologised for keeping me waiting. The landlady arrived soon afterwards and informed that she has Taylors Golden Best, Boltmaker and Landlord in the cellar and some John Smiths Cask which I have been told to try when it is on.
Moorhouse's - Pride of Pendle4.10Excellent
Purity - Pure UBU4.50Good

Saturday afternoon and preparations were in hand for the live music later on. Anne, the new landlady, told me that she had three different beers from Purity in the cellar and gave me a sample of Doom Bar so that I could try one before the last cask under the existing tenancy has gone.
St Austell - Tribute4.20ExcellentIn truly excellent condition.
Sharp's - Doom Bar4.00AcceptableI found this a bit sickly.
19 Jun 2017 (ChrisE)
A new tenant took over today, she showed me the cellar and the EI group guest beer list. I was introduced to the new Chef who will be taking over the kitchen in a few weeks time and will be making some changes to the menu.

Came for our usual Sunday carvery which did not disappoint in quality or service on a very busy day for there was a celebration party booked in. Sadly only one ale on.

Our first try at this inn for a midweek lunch and we were very happy with our choices of food which came with the usual attentive service, albeit that there were only a few people in.
