Mid afternoon - hardly a spare seat in the bar. I met up with a couple of long-term Dover drinkers that I’ve not seen in a while - good chat.

Afternoon visit before my train. Quiet but a good chat with Keith and Debbie. The topic of leaplings came up and they mentioned a rather nice chap that sometimes comes in who is a leapling. Our very own ChrisE.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brumaison - 1770 London Porter4.70ExcellentJust a taster - very decent with oatmeal notes. Debbie phoned the brewer to ask about the name - 1770 was the year the beer hydrometer was invented apparently and also Beethoven’s birthday.

Early lunchtime. A few regular faces in. Such well kept beer here. Both my pints were sparklingly clear, at a perfect temperature with plenty of life.

An hour's evening visit until late. A rare occasion and credit to the Guvs' cellarmanship but I have marked all 3 ales I had as 4½* for temperature, condition, mouthfeel, the lot.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 73.80Excellent4½* Gadds' 7 at its very best
Kent - Pale4.00Excellent4½* A beer rarely messed up by pubs but this was just so easily downable, a pity in fact that I had to rush it due to time
Iron Pier - Rosherville Red4.80Excellent4½* Even for a beer style I don't particularly like this was superbly crisp and bitter

Two visits today, one early afternoon and again for a quick half pint before catching my train home. The Lanes were on holiday so the pub was being run by their daughter and son-in-law. I met some of the local Camra branch and a former work colleague whilst I was in here.

Street corner Micropub on Worthington Street, located in what was previously Maxwell's Amusements Arcade, which opened on 19th December 2014, a day after full planning permission was granted by Dover District Council - now that is some logistical achievement. Mix of high tables / stools, settees / low tables plus wall shelves for vertical drinking. Lined glasses in use. 2017 and 2018 local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year. CAMRA East Kent Pub of the Year 2017 and 2018. CAMRA Kent Pub of the Year 2018. CLOSED Sundays. Closed after end of Covid lockdown with future uncertain.

We have visited this pub 77 times, seen 207 different beers and tried 104 of them.
