Saturday afternoon and I was the only customer which was a shame as the pub was very good and spotlessly clean. This pub is currently being managed by the Penguin Pub Company but still owned by Punch who are still advertising it for tenancy. I had a good chat with the lady who is running the pub who gave me the current opening hours which are 15:00-22:00 on Mondays and Tuesdays, 15:00-23:00 on Wednesdays, and 12:00-23:00 on Thursdays to Saturdays. Sunday hours are 12:00 -17:00.
There is a discount on pints for card carrying Camra members.

Saturday evening - fairly busy mid- evening but empty as we left around 2230.
The pubco is advertising for new managers. The existing landlord (of about 3 years) says that trade has suffered badly since nearby Canterbury prison closed and a drop-off in custom from Christchurch University. Shame - a pleasant, well appointed pub with a reasonable, well kept ale offering usually.
