Lunchtime and I’m pleased to find the front bar open (it was closed on my previous visit). I’m soon engaged in conversation by some locals, covering such matters as coastal footpaths, the breeding cycle of the Herring Gull and the hunting technique of the Kestrel.

Bank Holiday afternoon and busy outside which meant that the inside was comfortable (and I could have a proper glass instead of a plastic one for the beach). Plenty of staff on duty meant that service was good.

We sat in the front (saloon) bar which was fairly quiet, the rear (public) bar appeared to busy with people watching the large screen television. Friendly and attentive bar staff.

We sat in the front bar and had a couple of pints and a chat. A brewery has recently been installed in this pub and the barmaid informed us that the first test brew is "bubbling away at the moment".

Early Saturday evening and both bars were quite busy, I sat in front (saloon) bar which was a change from my norm. It is good to see how Stuart has managed to retain a proper pub atmosphere here.

The pub is found in Sandgate, Kent, CT20 3AH.
Located in Sandgate High Street, the back bar of the pub was formerly known as The Sebastopol. One time home of the Amazing Brewery, which now longer operates. Allegedly closed having gone into administration in late spring 2023. Re-opened now with new operator in late 2023.
We have visited this pub 30 times, seen 35 different beers and tried 14 of them.
