Very busy with late lunch diners on a Saturday afternoon.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Weltons - Autumn Shades4.40AcceptableDeep golden ale with a bittersweet flavour mainly from amber malts rather than hops. Dryish finish. My score 14/20.

BeerABVScoreNotes
Weltons - Chanctonbury Ring Oatmeal Stout5.60GoodDark brown stout which promises more than it delivers. Rather thin with some maltiness but also some hop bitterness. The finish is dryish and fruity. My score 15/20.

Busy mid evening on a Thursday with all seats in use.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Nethergate (was Nethergate Growler for a while then name reverted) - Mary's Ruby Mild4.50GoodBittersweet strong dark mild with toasty malt flavours and a fairly bitter finish. My score 15/20.
02 Apr 2011 (Martin the Mildman)
Busy on a Saturday lunchtime mainly with passing travellers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Weltons - Chocolate Mild3.90GoodRather disappointing in that this wasn't very chocolatey at all. Just a quite bitter, malty mild with a dryish finish. My score 15/20.
Cairngorm - Roggen4.30AcceptableAmber brew with a rather unbalanced bitter flavour. Little maltiness evident. The finish is astringent. My score 13/20.
01 Apr 2011 (Ian)
Always has a good spread of the festival beers on. A table of local retired blokes were singing old songs. This was at midday.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Cairngorm - Roggen4.30ExcellentGood malts, good condition. Really enormously drinkable.
Weltons - Chocolate Mild3.90AcceptableSmoky bacon rather than chocolate for me. Fine.
Leeds - Doubting Tom4.00AcceptableThe Sorachi Ace hop on this makes it very lemony and slightly tart.
