Late afternoon and busy back street drinkers local. Although the postcode is correct in the description, the map link shows a false location. The pub is on North Road close to the White Horse.

2215 hours visit. A hubbub of conversation but not overly busy.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Joseph Holt (see also Holt's) - Maplemoon4.30ExcellentVery tasty - clip says it has a twinkle of maple but as I do not know what maple tastes like I could not trace it. Interesting dry taste
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00GoodMy first and third. Was very good and, for once, very hoppy bitter rather than fruity cloying but I have marked it down for being inconsistent enough to have little idea what a pint will taste like from pub to pub

In a time of woe and strife for the pub trade it was heartwarming to find this place positively heaving. Football was showing on 2 TVs but didn't dominate. Darts league crowd were doing their usual trick of getting in the way of the toilets. One beer was being pulled through as we arrived and another changed while we were there. Great atmosphere, great local.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Batemans - XXXB (now superseded by 4.8% version)4.50ExcellentCrimson rouge, sparkling clarity, full rounded fruity malts and a warming finish. Delicious. And I was shocked to see that ours were virtually the last pints out of the barrel.
Beartown (latterly part of Manning Brewers) - Snoopy's Special4.20ExcellentThis is what coming to this pub is all about. Cracking guest beers in super nick. Fruity and crispy golden wonder, female-friendly and pleasant to the non-bitter end. We all stayed on this until kicking out time.
Greene King - Flanker's Tackle4.30AcceptableI fell into the trap of buying this as GK had done everything they could to disguise the fact that this was one of their beers. A tiny 2mm crown logo on the pumpclip was all that gave it away. This was fresh on, amber-gold, very heavily malted and typically disappointing.

The pub is found in Bromley, Greater London, BR1 3LG.

Easily the best traditional pub in Bromley and, yes, it is tied to Greene King. Presumably came into the possession of Greene King via its previous Beard's of Lewes ownership. Small and cosy in North Road, tucked well away in the backstreets, always bustling of an evening, great value food during the daytime. Big darts contingent and huge library of old books to read. GK IPA and Abbot, Harvey's Sussex Best and two guests, one of which is usually from GK's over-extended family. Landlord is a local hero. All browsers of this website are urged to visit this hard to find location in the web of little roads north of Bromley North railway station. 5 handpumps.

We have visited this pub 17 times, seen 28 different beers and tried 11 of them.
