The pub is found in Lee Green, Greater London, SE12 8SS.

In Leegate on the edge of the very dated Leegate shopping centre, standard smalltown Wetherspoon's fayre. Dark inside and toilets a good half mile away from the bar up a baronial hall style staircase. Outside seating provides a real hidden suntrap. 8 handpumps in 2 banks, each of 4. This Wetherspoon pub bears the name of one of England's greatest astronomers. Pub named after Edmund Halley, who gave his name to a now famous comet, and who lies buried in St Margaret's graveyard. Edmund Halley was born in 1656. His studies in astronomy and mathematics led him to be appointed a Fellow of the Royal Society, at the age of 22. Closed Friday 30th December 2022, specific immediate reason unknown but future of pub in existing guise uncertain as long standing plans for the redevelopment of the Leegate Centre, of which it is an integral part is always bubbling away.

We have visited this pub 91 times, seen 224 different beers and tried 103 of them.
